I couldn't tell you exactly how I came up with the idea, partly because it was a while ago (got it when I was still leaving in Paris, and thus had to way until my moving to Norway to implement it), partly simply because ideas follows each other without much logic until you bump into something that feels both "tangible" and ambiguous enough. I wanted it to look like a symbol, an allegory, not simply a photograph of someone posing, hence the ladder and the use of a wide angle lense.
